Module 5: Yin Yoga to Assist – Yin Yoga Asanas, Variations, and Touch in Teaching
Yin Yoga thrives on stillness, time, and presence—and at the same time on precise adaptation to the individual body. This module focuses on differentiated work with Yin Yoga asanas: how postures can be meaningfully varied to meet different anatomical structures, levels of mobility, and energetic states.
Another key focus is the conscious use of hands-on assists in Yin Yoga. Touch can be supportive, clarifying, and regulating—yet it requires mindfulness, experience, and a clear understanding of boundaries. In this module, touch is not approached as a technique, but as part of a responsible and professional teaching practice.
You will learn how hands-on assists can be used contextually in Yin Yoga, when they are appropriate—and when they are not. Safety, consent, presence, and respect are central throughout. The aim is to design Yin Yoga classes that allow depth without overwhelming students.
