100h and 200h Yin Yoga Teacher Training
A Yin Yoga teacher training provides in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy, fascia, the nervous system, energetic models, and trauma-sensitive teaching. The focus lies on long-term practice, individual adaptation, somatic learning, and working with slow, static yoga styles that come with their own unique challenges and rewards – rather than on performance.
This Yin Yoga teacher training places a strong emphasis on a deep understanding of the nervous system and on trauma-sensitive, somatic teaching and practice approaches. This core principle runs through all modules – from methodological foundations to TCM, acupressure, and Yoga Nidra, as well as assist and hands-on practice. Module 6 forms the structural and didactic anchor of the training, integrating and connecting all contents.
The 100-hour Yoga Alliance–certified Yin Yoga Teacher Training, which primarily takes place in Vienna – and since 2025 also in Salzburg and Tyrol – consists of a 50-hour foundational module (Module 1) and five additional in-depth modules. The training is modular in structure.
All modules can be taken individually and are eligible as YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education). The 100-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training is Yoga Alliance certified.
The 200-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training is not Yoga Alliance certified, as Yoga Alliance requires primarily classical yoga content for 200-hour trainings, with only a limited proportion of Yin Yoga.
Upgrade to a Yoga Alliance–certified 300-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training planned for 2027/2028 (all completed modules will be fully credited).
Modules of the Yin Yoga Teacher Training – with a Focus on the Nervous System & Somatic Practice
All modules of this training are oriented in their intention and methodology toward the nervous system. The somatic approach and trauma-sensitive teaching framework – as described in Module 6 – are integral components of every module.
All information, dates, and prices for the individual modules can be accessed by clicking on the respective module.
This module teaches the fundamental principles of Yin Yoga and establishes a solid foundation for a safe and reflective practice. It covers functional alignment and anatomy rather than idealized forms, Yin Yoga postures with the use of props, core teaching methodology, and initial approaches to nervous system regulation as a basis for responsible teaching.
This module introduces the fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the context of Yin Yoga. The focus lies on meridian pathways, the Five Element theory, the organ systems and seasons, and their application in supporting energetic balance, inner awareness, and regulating practice.
In this module, acupressure is taught as a complementary tool within Yin Yoga. Participants learn selected acupressure points, their energetic effects, and how to integrate them meaningfully into Yin Yoga sequences to support regulation, awareness, and relaxation.
This module combines Yin Yoga with the foundations of meditation and Yoga Nidra. The focus lies on guided deep relaxation, conscious direction of attention, and understanding different states of the mind within a gentle, somatically oriented practice.
This module deepens the understanding of Yin Yoga postures, individual variations, and the mindful use of hands-on assists. Touch is taught as a supportive tool that can foster awareness, release, and regulation, while respecting anatomical differences and personal boundaries.
This module forms the core anchor of the training and places the nervous system at the center of Yin Yoga teaching. It covers the foundations of autonomic regulation, trauma-sensitive principles, and somatic approaches that enable safe, responsible, and individually responsive teaching.

Teacher Yin Yoga Teacher Training Austria
Nikoleta enjoyed two Yin Yoga sessions during her first Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga training. Even then, it was clear that she would focus less on Vinyasa and more on Yin Yoga in the future.
Since then, she has completed two 300-hour Yin Yoga trainings with international teachers, both of whom studied under the godfather of Yin Yoga, Paul Grilley as well as further yin yoga trainings. What she was missing in these two trainings - namely more nervous system background - she learned with further trainings.
She has completed approximately 800 hours of Yin Yoga training, combined with meditation, TCM, and acupressure and somatic approaches for nervous system regulation. Over the years, she has taught hundreds of Yin Yoga classes, primarily in Vienna. She varies her Yin Yoga classes, focusing on either more physical challenges, mental focus, energy pathways, meditation, spirituality, etc.
